As a starting point, I decided to make a list of things that I think are actually *degraded* by economic growth: - natural resources - connections to tradition - relationship with environment - sense of community (Exampl: some discussion <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/19/books/chapters/chapter-born-to-be-good.html?pagewanted=3" rel="nofollow">here</a> of how levels of trust between people are lower in richer countries.)
