Deluge

Last Friday, when the rain started falling monsoon-like, the first word that came to mind was “biblical”.

It’s taken five or six days for that water to fully gather down here in Oxford, with an increasing number of houses and streets now being flooded. The water hasn’t reached my house yet, though this image from the environment agency indicates that another day or two of rain could certainly bring it very close (I live on the right-hand edge of this map, right next to the creeping blue mass):
